Innovation that transforms the everyday
At Vigar, research, development, and innovation aren’t just a department—they’re the mindset that drives every step we take. Our commitment is to turn daily tasks into easier, more enjoyable, and environmentally responsible experiences.
Our creative process
We start with active listening: observing today’s homes and identifying real needs. Then, we transform those insights into ideas through design thinking techniques, prototype using 3D printing, and validate every detail with users before moving to final manufacturing.
People-centered design
Every line, every texture and every color is defined to make the product intuitive and ergonomic. We want it to fit you, your routine and your style. That's why we combine functionality, aesthetics and a touch of surprise that makes the brand unmistakable.
Sustaiable materials
Sustainability guides our choices: post-consumer recycled plastics, FSC-certified bamboo and fibers from PET bottles recovered from the marine environment. The result is a durable and planet-friendly catalog.
Bamboo is one of the most abundant renewable resources in the world. Certain types of bamboo can grow nearly 1 meter in a single day, making it one of the fastest-growing plants. We use bamboo for its high ecological value and great quality, providing both strength and warmth to our products. To ensure better care and longevity, hand washing is recommended, and dishwasher use should be avoided. We hold FSC certification, which guarantees that all forest-derived raw materials come from controlled logging and forests managed according to the strictest sustainability standards.
The shape of the fiber gives the products intended for
for soil care, glass, or delicate surfaces a high absorption capacity and endows them with perfect qualities for cleaning, drying, and more. This fabric absorbs twice as much as cotton, is finer and lighter, and removes dirt using less cleaning product. Additionally, it leaves no residue or streaks on the surfaces where it is used.
Our products are designed to have a long life cycle, as the material withstands high temperatures and many washings. All products have a corresponding “care label” with maintenance and washing instructions.
We use high-quality plastic in our eco-designed products because they offer excellent technical and aesthetic characteristics. We are increasingly incorporating a wide variety of recycled plastics and bioplastics into our catalog, considering their recyclability and properties, thus contributing to the creation of circular design pieces.
For this reason, all the fibers used in both brooms and hand brooms are made from recycled PET (for every 4 discarded 1.5L bottles, we produce the fibers for one of our brooms). Similarly, our products that allow it—due to their functionality and shape—are made with post-industrial or post-consumer recycled PP derived from items that have already had a first life and fulfilled their purpose.
All our plastic components are dishwasher safe, promoting hygiene and disinfection.
It is a resistant and durable material as it does not flake easily due to shocks. It is perfect for kitchens and bathrooms as it is hygienic and moisture resistant and generates less carbon footprint than similar products made of ceramic or glass.
The versatility of the material allows for a wide range of different, very natural finishes. Additionally, due to its manual manufacturing process and small batch production, finishes may vary slightly, giving each piece unique aesthetic characteristics.
During the rice cultivation process, the husk is separated from each grain and is usually discarded as waste. We add value to this by using it to produce bioplastics for our most sustainable product lines. Bioplastics are created using a significant percentage of renewable natural sources, meaning the material is partially derived from plants—in our case, rice husk fiber.
These materials are driving an evolution by saving fossil resources through the use of naturally regenerated biomass and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These products not only offer great eco-friendly benefits but are also durable and have properties identical to conventional versions. Moreover, they can be mechanically recycled through existing recycling systems easily and effectively.
Silicone is a polymer made mainly from silicon, which comes from natural sources. Its properties make it a high quality material: it is flexible, non-stick and very resistant, both to shocks and extreme temperatures. It is antibacterial and does not contain BPA or any other toxic element, so it is totally suitable for use in products in contact with food. It is also very easy to clean, as it is dishwasher safe.
All this makes silicone a very durable material, giving the products a long service life.
Rapid prototyping laboratory
We have our own facility to print, assemble, and subject prototypes to tests for durability, ergonomics, and lifecycle. This way, we minimize waste and accelerate the market launch of continuous improvements.
Open collaborations
We work together with universities, technology centers and suppliers to stay at the forefront of materials and production processes. We believe in co-creation as a way to continue surprising and adding value to every room in the home.
